Benefits

In order to understand the advantages of SHEonline let’s look at why we developed the product.

Andy Brown, Operations Director for Safety, Health & Environment explains, “we implemented the SHEonline system to achieve two key objectives, the reduction of injuries and accidents within our construction business and to improve safety, health and environmental management within our supply chain. SHEonline has enabled us to achieve this, giving us the tool to exercise strategic performance management techniques across our group and the companies that work for us, reinforcing SHE ownership at board level and utilising trend analysis to help prevent accidents rather than reacting to them.

“Our SHE performance has improved year on year since the introduction of SHEonline which means that more people are returning home safely at the end of their shift as a result of our implementation of an intelligent, proactive SHE system.”

The solution

After evaluating all suitable options, Mace Group developed SHEonline in partnership with a leading health and safety software developer. This strategy was chosen as the one that would most satisfy the Group’s requirements, namely, a system which:

  1. focused on performance management rather than document management;
  2. was capable of managing multiple projects and a large supply chain with ownership and control taken by individual supply chain members; and
  3. a system that complements a behavioural safety programme, i.e. helps identify the key behaviours to be rewarded or improved.

Measurable benefits

Adopting a web-based technology offered distinct advantages in terms of performance and tracking:

  1. User friendly and intuitive system
  2. Many users can access simultaneously
  3. Trend analysis readily identifies SHE issues prior to an accident or loss
  4. Improved reporting procedures enabling swift production of uniform reports across your organisations
  5. A reduction in accidents across the Group
